<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device and an imaging device that can prevent the generation of a local recess at a retard roller. <P>SOLUTION: The driving of a separation part 37a which feeds sheets Sa from a sheet storage part via a feed roller 202 and a retard roller 203 while separating sheet by sheet is temporarily stopped in a predetermined time after the sheet is fed.
