The invention describes a method for calibrating and/or monitoring a coherent frequency-modulated continuous wave radar filling level measuring device, which method is based on measuring a distance to a reference reflector (15) arranged at a previously known distance (D) and in which the reference reflector (15) can be reliably identified. For this purpose, use is made of a reference reflector (15) which performs oscillations in the direction of the filling level measuring device at an oscillation frequency (f0s) and is used in the beam path of linearly frequency-modulated transmission signals (S) which are periodically emitted by the filling level measuring device. The filling level measuring device receives portions of the transmission signals (S), which are reflected back at reflectors in the container (3), and uses these reception signals (E) and the temporal correlation thereof to the associated transmission signal (S) to record, for each reception signal (E), an echo function (EF) which represents the amplitudes (A) of the reception signal (E) as a function of the associated position of the associated reflector. According to the invention, the position of the reference reflector (15) is identified in the echo functions using the temporal change in a plurality of echo functions (EF) recorded in succession and the oscillation frequency (f0s) of the reference reflector (15) and the reference reflector position (Rref) of said reference reflector is determined. |
