<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact-type image sensor and an illumination optical system which secure uniform irradiation performance in the length direction, efficiently irradiate a document surface, and have proper integration performance as well. <P>SOLUTION: The contact-type image sensor and the illumination optical system comprise: light transmitting bodies extending in the reading width direction of a document; condenser lenses which are provided along the light transmitting bodies and are composed of condensing parts condensing light emitted from the light transmitting bodies and irradiating the portion to be irradiated of the document therewith and collar parts extending from the condensing parts; a light source making a light incident to the light transmitting bodies; and a housing having a hole allowing passing through of light which is emitted from the condenser lenses and reflected by the portion to be irradiated of the document. The housing houses the light transmitting bodies and has the collar parts placed in a step portion generated at the portion housing the light transmitting body, on the opposite side from the hole. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
