The photodetector has multiple detector connection doping regions (142, 152) partly arranged in a terminal region of a trough (130). A detection region of the trough includes maximum dopant concentration that is lower than maximum dopant concentration of a terminal portion of the trough. A bus control electrode (136) is electrically insulated from a semiconductor substrate (120) and arranged in a region of the trough adjacent to the detector connection doping regions, transfer control electrodes (144) and the detection region of the trough. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a photodetector.
