The present invention provides a nonaqueous electrolyte which is capable of suppressing the generation of a gas even in cases where batteries are stored in high temperature environments or batteries are repeatedly charged and discharged. This nonaqueous electrolyte contains a nonaqueous solvent, a solute that is dissolved in the nonaqueous solvent, and an additive. The additive contains a cyclic ester compound having a carbon-carbon triple bond, and the cyclic ester compound is at least one compound that is selected from the group consisting of alkynylene carbonates, alkynylene sultones and sultones having an alkynyl group. |
