<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical alignment type liquid crystal display which achieves improvement in front contrast leading to power saving and reduces color shift and enlarges a viewing angle; and a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A vertical alignment type liquid crystal display includes a backlight, a vertical alignment type liquid crystal cell with a configuration in which a liquid crystal is held between two transparent substrates, and one polarizing plate on the display surface side of the vertical alignment type liquid crystal cell and one polarizing plate on the backlight side thereof, in which the vertical alignment type liquid crystal display satisfies predetermine conditions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
