The device has an infrared source and an infrared receiver that are placed so as to respectively transmit and receive infrared radiation through a part of a wall of a tube containing a barrier layer to be analyzed, where the infrared radiation ranges between 2 and 16 microns. The infrared source and the infrared receiver are placed on a same side of the wall of the tube. A mirror is placed on another side of the wall. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting and/or determining a position of a barrier layer contained in a wall of a tubular package. |
