<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tandem organic electroluminescent element having a low drive voltage and a high luminous efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The tandem organic electroluminescent element 1 has at least a first light-emitting element 13, and a second light-emitting element 15 between a positive electrode 12 and a negative electrode 16. An intermediate unit 14 is provided between the first light-emitting element 13 and the second light-emitting element 15.
