The panel sawing machine has a clamping element (50a) comprising a support surface (51a) that receives a workpiece (100), and an abutment surface (5) which defines a stop plane perpendicular to the support surface. The clamping element is coupled with a base structure through actuating levers (30a,40a). A clamping pad (52a) is provided at bottom of clamping surface of clamping element. An independent claim is included for method for clamping workpiece.
