The device 2 has a housing with a firebox 20 and at least a first air inlet 14. Solid fuel is combusted on a grate 4 with a space below it. The inlet is located above the space. At least some of the air is introduced into the device through a conduit 22 linking the inlet to an opening outside the room or building. A flue aperture is located in the top of the housing. The device includes one or more doors 10 with at least one including a window 12. Secondary airflow acts as an airwash for the window whilst a tertiary flow is used for further combustion. A regulator or damper actuated by a pulley controls the flow of air whilst a deflector or baffle 18 causes recirculation. |
