<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode assembly in a solid polymer fuel cell, high in sealability. <P>SOLUTION: In a membrane electrode assembly in a solid polymer fuel cell, a gasket layer is formed by impregnating a fibrous material with a sticking agent or an adhesive agent, the gasket layer being adjacent to a catalyst layer formed on both surfaces of an electrolyte membrane of the membrane electrode assembly. Thus, breakage of the electrolyte membrane due to expansion and shrinkage and breakage and peeling of each member owing to a heat treatment process during manufacture can be suppressed, and the sealability of the membrane electrode assembly can be increased by making the surface of a thermosetting resin uniform. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
