PURPOSE: Carbon coated aluminum foil as a cathode of a solid aluminum electrolytic capacitor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a carbon film on the surface of aluminum foil by colliding ions against the aluminum foil surface and consecutively accumulating carbon atoms. CONSTITUTION: Carbon coated aluminum foil as a cathode of a solid aluminum electrolytic capacitor comprises aluminum foil(1) and a carbon film. The aluminum foil has one or more rough surfaces(11). The carbon film is formed on the rough surfaces of the aluminum foil by loading carbon atoms(2) on the rough surfaces to be coupled with each other and consecutively accumulated.
