<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect the nipping of a foreign matter when closing a car door, in an elevator system. <P>SOLUTION: In the elevator system 10, a left side door stop member 60 is arranged at the door stop side of a left side car door 22, and a right side door stop member 62 is arranged at the door stop side of a right side car door 24. The left side door stop member 60 and the right side door stop member 62 are of alternate shapes having tips and roots so as to be alternately combined on the right and left when mutually joined, and have the alternate shapes larger in alternate interval L<SB POS="POST">1</SB>between a position of the tips and a position of the roots along the door opening/closing direction than a threshold value interval L<SB POS="POST">0</SB>for detecting door closure in a door closure detecting part 30.
