A method and an apparatus for traffic information service are provided to transmit video data of an application without including a message of the application and transmit the application message including video data position information, thereby reducing the amount of data to be transmitted and message transmission time in real time environment. A method for traffic information service comprises the following steps of: transmitting at least one video data related to an application without including a message of the application and transmitting the application message including at least one video data position information; and outputting video data related to the application by referring to position information included in a received application message and displaying the outputted video data. The application message and video data are transmitted through a mobile communication network. |
