The method involves detecting main and auxiliary ambient pressure indications, and main and auxiliary suction tube pressure indications by an ambient pressure sensor (12) and a suction tube pressure sensor (11) at two points of time. A difference in pressure between the main ambient and suction tube pressure indications and a difference in pressure between the auxiliary ambient and suction tube pressure indications are determined. The ambient pressure alteration of the motor car is determined with respect to the determined pressure differences. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) motor system for motor car; and (2) computer program product for determining ambient pressure alteration around motor car.
