<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type video display device that achieves a small-sized housing structure. <P>SOLUTION: The projection type video display device includes: a housing; a light source for emitting light; an optical modulation part for performing optical modulation on the light from the optical source based on a video input signal; a projection part for enlarging and projecting modulation light from the optical modulation part on a projection surface; and a cooling unit for cooling a heat generation part. In the projection type video display device, the projection part includes a projection lens for enlarging and projecting the modulation light from the optical modulation part and a reflection mirror for reflecting the enlarged and projected light from the projection lens on the projection surface, a gap part between the projection part and the housing, which is generated by shifting an optical axis passing through the center of the optical modulation part in relation to an optical axis passing through the center of the projection lens, is provided, and the gap part is provided with a duct for ventilation of the cooling unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
