<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method that comply with requests of a button and a scroll wheel and other requests by providing a structure for navigation in a GUI on a handheld device (for example, a 3D pointing device) in which the button and scroll wheel are built. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a method for switching between a scroll mode and a pointing mode of a user interface, the method including the stages of: generating a corresponding movement of a cursor by moving a remote control device during the pointing mode; entering the scroll mode by rotating the scroll wheel and moving the cursor; and making the pointing mode ineffective in response to the stage of rotating the scroll wheel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
