PURPOSE: A method for preparing Thymus quinquecostatus extract with an antioxidation effect is provided to ensure excellent antioxidation effect without toxicity and side effect and to treat or prevent aging and diseases caused by oxidation. CONSTITUTION: An antioxidative composition contains Thymus quinquecostatus extract as an active ingredient. The antioxidative composition is used as a pharmaceutical product for preventing or treating disease caused by oxide by containing pharmaceutically acceptable carriers or excipient. The extract contains polyphenol and flavonoid. The antioxidative composition further contains sitologically acceptable extract, nutrient, or food additives.
