PURPOSE: A method for analyzing a function of a sunscreen using an elipsometer is provided to evaluate the performance of a sunscreen to have reproducibility in various angles and to reduce an error with an actual SPF value. CONSTITUTION: A method for analyzing a function of a sunscreen using an elipsometer is as follows. Spectra of a specimen coated on a base by using an elipsometer are measured in an infrared ray area according to a predetermined angle. A SPF index is calculated by calculating absorptive waves from the measured spectra or determined by comparing the measured spectra or spectra of a comparison group each other. The base is a quartz plate.
