FREQUENCY-DOMAIN ADAPTIVE FEEDBACK EQUALIZER

PURPOSE: An adaptive feedback equalizer is provided to update all filtering and filter factors in a frequency domain by providing a circuit for adaptive feedback equalization. CONSTITUTION: A feed forward filtering section(2) applies filtering to a block(3) of a received symbol. A plurality of conversion means changes the block of a symbol between a time domain and a frequency domain. A slicer(4) slices a time domain version of the block of an equalized symbol(5). The slicer outputs the block of a sliced symbol(6). A feedback filtering section(7) applies filtering to a frequency domain version of the sliced symbol block. An integrating means(8) adds up outputs from the feedback filtering section and the feed forward filtering section. A first update means(9) updates factors of the feed forward filtering section.
