<p>The present invention concerns a device (1) for anchoring a post (1a, 1b, 1c) in a support structure (2), a system with such a post (1a, 1b, 1c) being able to be a fall restraint protection system, an installation for protecting an area on a support structure (2), and a method for installing a post (1a, 1b, 1c). The anchoring device is characterized in that it comprises a securing means or member conformed so as to cooperate with the post (1a, 1b, 1c) for securing the post (1a, 1b, 1c) to said anchoring device (1) and in that the anchoring device (1) comprises a plate (7) raised with respect to the collar (4) so as to leave a space between the plate (7) and the collar (4), said plate (7) carrying said securing means or member.
