DRAWING METHOD FOR FORGING AND APPARATUS THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for pre-processing a material when manufacturing a yoke by forging are provided to pre-process a round rod type material to a volume similar to the end-product by reducing both end portions of the material. CONSTITUTION: A method for pre-processing a material when manufacturing a yoke by forging comprises the steps of: striking both end portions of a round rod type material(10) first and turning both end portions of the material by 90°and striking secondly so that the cross section of the central portion of the material increases while those of both end portions of the material decrease. An apparatus for embodying the pre-processing method a lower die(110) and an upper die(120) which strike both end portions of the material and a mounting part(130) which is protruded from the upper center of the lower die and supports the material. Holding grooves are formed at side edges(131) of the mounting part and inner edges(111) of the lower die contacting the side edges of the mounting part. The mounting part is reciprocated up and down by a guide(135) and a guide groove(115). A compressive spring(140) is embedded in the lower side of the mounting part.
