To support a flexible hose where it is necessary to bend it a part of the hose fits closely within a rigid bend which may be in two parts 34, Fig. V, applied around the hose and secured together by flanges 36, and having lugs 38 for attachment to a fixture. The bend may be undivided and have a slight flare at each end. The bend may be combined with a hose end fitting of the type in which the hose end is gripped between an insert 18, Fig. II, and an external sleeve. As shown, the sleeve comprises a straight portion 16 of the bend 14 which is sweated at its end to a collar 22 screwed on to the insert. A left-hand helical groove 26 is rolled into the sleeve portion 16. Alternatively the bend is sweated on to the sleeve of a known fitting. |
