摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for forming an optical film for sufficiently suppressing the temperature irregularity of a casting film and avoiding the deterioration of the optical quality of a formed optical film even if high-speed formation is performed, in a solution casting method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for forming the optical film includes a casting process of casting a resin solution 51 from a die 11 to a moving support 12 to form a cast film 52 where the support 12 of the upstream side in the moving direction of the support 12 from the die 11 is cooled at least over the width where the casting film 52 is formed. In the forming method of the optical film, it is preferable to divide the support 12 into a plurality of parts in the width direction, to cool parts independently for each part, to cool the part of the support 12 corresponding to the end in the width direction of the casting film 52 to a temperature lower than that of the part of the support 12 corresponding to the center in the width direction of the casting film 52, and to cool the support 12 so that a temperature difference in the width of the support 12 lies within &plusmn;2&deg;C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
