<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology capable of suitably executing control of stopping a drive target at a target stop position by displacing the drive target, in environment placing a load on the drive target in the direction of receding. <P>SOLUTION: A sheet conveyance control unit implementing sheet conveyance by rotating a conveyance roller provided in a sheet conveyance mechanism through a motor has a configuration for stopping a sheet at a target stop position accurately and quickly in environment placing a load in the reverse direction to a sheet conveyance direction. Specifically, the sheet conveyance control unit inputs an on-signal as an enable signal until the sheet crosses the target stop position, while inputting a PWM signal to a motor driver so that driving current corresponding to an operation amount calculated based on deviation between an actual position and a target position is supplied to the motor.
