<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose acylate film which has substantially no retardation in the in-plane directions and has large Rth per a film thickness and a high elastic modulus, and to provide a method for manufacturing the film. <P>SOLUTION: The cellulose ester film contains at least one kind of plasticizer and satisfies the following expressions (1)-(5): ¾Re¾≤5 nm (1); 50 nm<Rth<300 nm (2); 25 μm≤d≤65 μm (3); 1×10<SP POS="POST">-3</SP>≤Rth/d≤4×10<SP POS="POST">-3</SP>(4); 3.8 GPa<E'<5.0 GPa (5); where Re represents the retardation value in the in-plane directions, Rth represents the retardation value in the thickness direction, d represents the thickness of the film, and E' represents the elastic modulus of the film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
