<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of excellently carrying out oxygen reduction of a mixed gas to reliably prevent a deterioration-promoting material from being supplied to electrode reaction surfaces. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell 10 is made by laminating an electrolyte-membrane electrode assembly 12, a first separator 14, and a second separator 16. An oxidant gas inlet passage 18a, a fuel gas inlet passage 20a, an oxidant gas outlet passage 18b, and a fuel gas outlet passage 20b are provided through the fuel cell 10 in the lamination direction. The first separator 14 is provided with oxidant gas channels 24, and the second separator 16 is provided with fuel gas channels 28. A projecting portion 12b of the electrolyte-membrane electrode assembly 12 is provided with an oxidation-reduction catalyst layer 46 which is formed separately from an anode 42, between the fuel gas inlet passage 20a and the fuel gas channels 28. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
