A communication system provided with: an assembled battery formed by connecting, in series, a plurality of battery packs having at least one rechargeable battery cell; a battery management unit for managing the aforementioned battery packs; and an optical line used for transmitting the battery data from the battery packs to the battery managing unit and for transmitting, from the battery packs to the battery managing unit, an emergency cancellation signal which is transmitted when a critical condition is detected by the battery packs and which cuts off the connection between the assembled battery and a power converting unit.
