Anamorphic lens of the type used to horizontally compress the image, in which the anamorphic group is situated immediately behind the stop or iris (12); the anamorphic part is composed of two aligned groups each with two or more cylindrical lenses, the second group being rotated through 90° with respect to the first group, wherein one group horizontally compresses the image and the other vertically stretches the image.
