<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an output and reduce a size by using an outer rotor type electric motor as a driving source, in a portable cutting device moved along an upper face of a cut material to perform a cut process; and enable stable operation and enhance durability by considering cooling of the outer rotor type electric motor when it is used as the driving source. <P>SOLUTION: An outer rotor type electric motor 11 is used as a driving source for rotating a rotary blade 12, and a cooling fan 11e is mounted to an output shaft 11d of the electric motor 11. The cooling fan 11e is mounted along a closing side of a rotor 11c (bottom part 11k). A motor control device is internally fitted to a handle part 30, and an air supply hole is arranged around the motor control device to form a ventilation passage.
