<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that restricts growth in size and accommodates a plurality of light emitting parts for outputting an optical signal. <P>SOLUTION: A projector modulates a light flux emitted from a light source in accordance with image information and projects first and second images onto a screen by time sharing. A projector 1 includes a projection lens 36 for projecting a modulated light flux and a plurality of light emitting parts 7 for outputting a light signal in synchronization with switching between the first and second images toward a screen.
