PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively recover drawbacks of an optical member.

SOLUTION: A recovery device 2 includes: a transfer part 50 for transferring a sheet piece configured by separably laminating an optical member and a separator; a determination part 10 for determining whether the optical member of the sheet piece transferred by the transfer part 50 is a good optical member containing no drawbacks or a poor optical member (a poor lamination sheet F12) containing drawbacks; a moving part 21 for moving a knife edge 20 that separates a separator F3 from the optical member by contacting the sheet piece to a position not contacting this sheet piece when the optical member of the sheet piece transferred by the transfer part 50 is determined to be a good optical member by the determination part 10; and a recovery part 5 for recovering the sheet piece transferred by the transfer part 50 without contacting the knife edge 20.
