PURPOSE:To provide high alumina brick being uniform and having a stronger binding comparing with a conventional one, in a high alumina brick used for a wall lining inside an atmospheric furnace in contact with a molten material. CONSTITUTION:A brick compsn. having a chemical composition consisting of 50.0-99.8wt.% Al2O3 and the balance of at least a kind of oxide, such as SiO2, Fe2O3, etc., is impregnated with a metallic chromium alkoxide and is fired at 1300 deg.C. In this way, as a binding at a particle boundary is strengthened, a high temp. strength or a thermal impact resistance is remarkably improved. |
