<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add a new element into a game without spending time and labor. <P>SOLUTION: A game system 1 includes: a game machine 3 for carrying out a prescribed game; a plurality kinds of cards 2 carrying an identification code 20 relating to the additional element to be added into the game; and a server 4 that holds the additional element data D relating to each additional element. The game machine 3 includes: a camera 32 that reads the identification code 20 from the card 2; a code storage part 351 that cumulatively stores the read identification code 20; a communication part 34 that receives each additional element data D stored in the server 4; an additional element data storage part 352 that stores each additional element data D received by the communication part 34; and a controller 37 that carries out the game.
