The housing device for disinfecting water with UV radiation, with a lateral cartridge arrangement, has means for smoothing out the flow, said means being arranged directly after the cartridge inlet opening and before the cartridge outlet opening in the device body and being in the form of elements of a size A in the flow direction. The elements are arranged along the entire diameter of the cartridge inlet and outlet openings with a subsequent horizontal offset B and vertical offset C in relation to each other, with the condition that B and C are less than A, and B is approximately equal to C. The elements may be in the form of vanes, angle sections or plates.
