IMAGE READING DEVICE, IMAGE READING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique preventing a read out image from being lost as much as possible in an image reading device that does not generate a shift pulse in a case where a predetermined time period has not elapsed since a previous shift pulse was generated.

SOLUTION: An image reading device 50 provided with a mechanism that is driven by a motor 310 comprises: an image reader for transmitting an electric charge accumulated in a photoelectric conversion element by a shift pulse; and a shift pulse controller for controlling an output timing of the shift pulse on the basis of a rotation of the motor 310. The shift pulse controller postpones outputting the shift pulse and stores the shift pulse as that to be output later in a case where a specified time period required to transmit the electric charge has not elapsed since the shift pulse was output at a previous time.
