<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber which can absorb both a shock of an ordinary size and an extremely large shock, is small in size and sufficed to be small in an installation area to a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The shock absorber (3) for a railroad vehicle includes a cylinder body (8), a piston (10) arranged in the cylinder body (8) so as to freely advance and retreat, and a viscous fluid (11) sealed in the cylinder body (8). The cylinder body (8) is constituted of a first cylinder (6) for opening one end, and a second cylinder (7) similarly opening one end and out-fitting and fluid-tightly blocking an opening of the first cylinder (6) with a predetermined fitting margin. In the piston (10), its piston rod (18) is inserted from the first cylinder (6) side, and a predetermined clearance (22) is formed between a piston head (21) and an inner peripheral surface of the first cylinder (6). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
