<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of industrially and efficiently producing alkyl phosphonic acid and a salt thereof, and aralkyl phosphonic acid and a salt thereof with simple chemical reaction equipment. <P>SOLUTION: Water is added dropwise to an alkyl phosphonic acid alkyl ester or an aralkyl phosphonic acid alkyl ester represented by general formula (1) while the ester is maintained in the temperature range of 120 to 200°C in the presence of an non-volatile acid to hydrolyze the alkyl phosphonic acid alkyl ester or aralkyl phosphonic acid alkyl ester, thereby corresponding alkyl phosphonic acid or aralkyl phosphonic acid is produced. Therein, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>in the formula is 7-20C alkyl group having a substituent or being unsubstituted, or 7-20C aralkyl group having a substituent or being unsubstituted, and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>are each independently 1-8C alkyl group or hydrogen atom, wherein at least one of R<SB POS="POST">2</SB>and R<SB POS="POST">3</SB>is the above 1-8C alkyl group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
