A runner assembly (14) for slidably supporting a mobile shelving unit above a longitudinal track. The runner assembly includes: a longitudinal body including at least one vertical planar portion; at least one fastening means in the form of a nut (30) and bolt (34); and at least one slot (22, 24) extending longitudinally along the at least one vertical planar portion. The at least one slot is in the form of a T-shaped slot including a larger inner region adapted to slidably accommodate the nut, and a narrower outer opening allowing for insertion through of the bolt to engage the nut at desired positions along its length. Each of the fastening means is used to attach a mobile shelving component to the body.
