PURPOSE: A system for recommending a search word and a method thereof are provided to select a recommendation search word based on location information of a user terminal and to detect validity of the corresponding recommendation search word, thereby improving convenience of search service usage. CONSTITUTION: A receiving unit(110) receives a search word from a first user terminal and a selection search result from a search result list about the search word. A collecting unit(120) classifies and stores the selection search result according to a region. A determining unit(130) determines validity of the selection search result according to location information of the first user terminal. A recommendation search word selecting unit(140) selects a recommendation search word which provides to a second user terminal according to a result determined. The recommendation search word selecting unit selects the selection search result or the search word as the recommendation search word.
