<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector capable of housing contacts at high density, and effectively shielding a gap between the contacts. <P>SOLUTION: An electric connector electrically connecting an electronic module with an electric component comprises an insulator 728 having a module face 730 and an opposite component face 732. An electric contact 722 is held by the insulator. The electric contact has fitting sections 766 arranged in an array along the module face of the insulator. The fitting section is fitted with a mating contact of the electronic module. A shield 729 has a main body 731 having conductivity. The shield body is mounted on the insulator so as to cover at least a part of the module face of the insulator. The shield body has openings 749 blocked by inner walls 751 of the main body, respectively. Each of the openings accepts the fitting section of one of the electric contacts, so that the inner wall of each of the openings extends at least partially around the fitting section of one of the electric contacts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
