<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device that suppresses variations of a contact angle caused by variations of the amount of lubricant on an intermediate transfer body to prevent cleaning troubles of the intermediate transfer body by effectively removing excessively applied lubricant through the transition from a plurality of image carriers to the intermediate transfer body. <P>SOLUTION: An image formation device includes: an intermediate transfer body; a plurality of image formation parts in which there are provided an image carrier, lubricant application means for applying lubricant onto at least a non-image formation area of the image carrier, a development apparatus for forming a toner image on the image carrier, and primary transfer means for transferring the toner image on the image carrier onto the intermediate transfer body, respectively; a cleaning member for cleaning the residual toner on the intermediate transfer body after secondary transfer; a lubricant removal member that is arranged at a position between two image formation parts adjacent in the direction of movement of the intermediate transfer body so as to come into contact with and separate from the intermediate transfer body and removes the lubricant thereon; and control means for contacting and separating the lubricant removal member and the intermediate transfer body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
