<p>The present invention provides a system for high fidelity underwater sound generation. The system includes an underwater sound actuator and the corresponding electronic driver. The sound is generated by a rigid plate whose vibration is both electromagnetically excited and attenuated, thus avoiding the use of any elastic membrane. Since there is no compressible air inside the device, which is flooded by water, the operation is independent from depth, with applications to any water pressure. An embodiment comprises a plate (1 ), a cylindrical part (2), a screw (3), a permanent magnet (4), a first pair of coils (5), a second pair of coils (6), a support (7), a spacing ring (8), the actuator body (9), and a top lid (10).</p> |
