<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the probability of missing a shutter chance and allow an imaging apparatus to be stably placed on a table or the like immediately after being changed to a playback mode. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a lens barrel capable of transiting the state thereof between an extension state in which an optical system is protruded from a front surface of a casing and a collapsed state in which the optical system is stored in the casing; imaging means for outputting image information by obtaining an object image formed via the optical system of the lens barrel in the extension state; posture detection means for detecting a posture of the casing; a mode setting section for switching an operation mode between an imaging mode and a playback mode; and a collapse control section which allows the lens barrel to transit to the extension state when the mode setting section sets the operation mode at the imaging mode, and allows the lens barrel to transit to the collapsed state when the mode setting section sets the operation mode at the playback mode, the lens barrel is in the extension state, and the posture detection means detects that the front surface of the casing is directed downward. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
