Resistive voltage divider with high voltage ratio

A resistive voltage divider comprises at least a first (10) and a second (12) resistor electrically connected in series. The resistors are made of an electrically resistive film material (8) and each resistor is applied in form of a trace onto an insulating substrate (9). The divider's voltage ratio has a value between one hundred and one million, In order to achieve these high voltage ratios, a third resistor (13) is electrically connected in parallel with the second resistor. The trace of the second (12) and of the third resistor (13) each overlap on one end at least in part with a first contacting terminal (B) and on the respective other end at least in part with a second contacting terminal (C). A compact size of the divider is maintained by arranging the first and second contacting terminals in an interdigitated manner.
