CARRIER RESISTANCE VALUE DETECTION DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING DETERIORATION STATE OF CARRIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply an appropriate amount of carrier and to stabilize output images by removing toner from developer, measuring a resistance value of carrier only, and accurately predicting the deterioration state of the developer.

SOLUTION: A carrier resistance value detection device comprises: a discharged developer carrying member which conveys developer discharged from a developing device and composed of toner and carrier, while depositing it on its surface; a toner collecting member which is arranged in a position opposing the discharged developer carrying member and collects only toner out of the developer deposited on the discharged developer carrying member; and resistivity detection means which detects the volume resistivity of the carrier after the toner is collected by the toner collecting member from the developer deposited on the discharged developer carrying member.
