The invention relates to the use of an engine oil having kinematic viscosity at 0°C according to standard ASTM D445 of 16 to 27 cSt, including at least one ester (a) of the formula R(OH)m(COOR'(OH)p(OOCR'')q)n for lubricating internal combustion engines of hybrid vehicles, in which the maximum torque, measured between 1000 and 3000 revolutions per minute, is higher than 1000 N.m.
