<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defect marking device which can ensure the accuracy of dotting at a defective part and improve the yield of a sheet-shaped product. <P>SOLUTION: In a defect marking device 1, when a CCD camera 4 detects a defective part of a sheet-shaped product S carried in the longitudinal direction, the positions of the defective part in the width and length directions of the sheet-shaped product S are detected by an image processing portion 5, and a head control portion 6 controls a marking head 7 to dot at the defective part. The defect marking deice 1 comprises a driving motor 21 capable of controlling rotation angle, as a driving source of the dotting action of the marking head 7. The accuracy of a dotting point by the marking head 7 can thereby be sufficiently ensured, so that it is not necessary to remove a large area of the sheet-shaped product S around the defective part.
