<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method of a superconducting joint in which a superconducting joint in a magnet is cooled sufficiently without relying upon the immersion cooling in a cryogenic liquid medium. <P>SOLUTION: The superconducting joints (18; 60) to be cooled includes a joint cups (20; 40; 66), a plurality of superconducting filaments (14) of the length needed to be placed in each joint cup, and a superconducting material (28) filling the joint cups and coming into contact with the superconducting filaments so that the superconducting joints come into thermal and mechanical contact with a pipe (24) carrying a cryogenic medium (68).
