<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the possibility of the occurrence of data missing or system freeze due to deterioration in memory band efficiency during reading of imaging data from an image sensor in a continuous photographing mode. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: control means that temporarily records an image file output from imaging means in a memory; recording means that records, in a data recording medium, the image file recorded in the memory in a predetermined directory structure; and cache control means that caches, in the memory, file management information in the data recording medium.
